Black Miss USA Defies Democrats

At first glance, one would think the new Miss USA, Kára McCollough, would be instantly enshrined in the pantheon of liberal heroes, judging by all of the leftist identity boxes she could check off, but after straying from the liberal orthodoxy on health care and feminism, she became a virtual outcast within moments.

According to The Washington Post, McCollough is a black woman representing the District of Columbia. She was born in Italy and is a nuclear chemistry scientist at the U.S. Nuclear Regulatory Commission. She also works to encourage school-aged girls to follow her steps into the fields of science, technology, engineering and math, all things that should make every liberal proud.

Yet, when it came time for the question and answer portion of the pageant, she was asked whether she believed affordable health care was a right or a privilege. Apparently she choose the wrong answer.

The New York Daily News reported that McCollough replied, “I’m definitely going to say it’s a privilege.”

“As a government employee, I’m granted health care,” she continued. “And I see firsthand that for one, to have health care, you need to have jobs, so therefore we need to continue to cultivate this environment so that we’re given the opportunities to have health care as well as jobs for all Americans worldwide.”

Leftists on social media immediately registered their disapproval of her answer in no uncertain terms, with some insinuating that she had claimed poor or unemployed people didn’t deserve health care, while most simply publicly withdrew their support of her as if she had instantly become the worst person in the world … like, totally on par with President Donald Trump or Hitler. Seriously, that bad.

We have a woman who understands the Constitution our nation is founded on. The Federal government has no business in the health care industry, or education, or to decide what constitutes a marriage. That is up to the states. The United States of America. Now we are in a division of the republic and the socialist.
A nation divided is how “Life” headlined it. We the people need to understand our constitution. Hillsdale College is teaching us for free!

And yet, when asked again, a day or two later, she says that it is a “right”.
Time to see the response to her answer and a little pressure put on her,
she backtracks and “changes her mind”.

    • crusader2010

People don’t change their minds. they just tell others what they want to hear. I did it all the way though University, Once I got my Degree, I gave them all the finger.

Hooray for Miss McCollough! Her response, and the negative response she received from libs, just goes to emphasize their hypocrisy. It’s get in line and tout the party line or be nullified! Well, she is one smart woman, and the libs can just kiss her grits!!!

    • disqus_HmhlZlvKbp

She did backtrack on her answer one or two days later.

Just like a liberal. She didn’t say what they wanted her to so they abandoned her. She deserves to win the pageant just like she is a winner in her personal life. People today don’t know the difference between a right and a privilege.

    • mrpoohead

….and she doesn’t have the excuse of being blonde. Ha!

      • Estell Newton

Can’t you ever say anything nice about anyone?

Why does it usually take someone who wasn’t born here to appreciate what we were born with.

    While the “Snow Flakes” whine….

You people hear what you want to hear, her original answer could’ve been interpreted either way, and she correctly clarified her statement.

No American should have the right to refuse to buy healthcare, and opting to burden insured Americans with their health care costs. But some are, which opens the door for federal gov’t to come in with policies that require people to purchase healthcare so as they won’t burden other insured Americans.
